Winter Recital 2024
A number of our pupils from our wee dance school took part in our wonderful winter recital today in the beautiful St Leonards hall- here they are getting their reward medals. Thank you to everyone who came along to support us,

Care Home Performance
Thank you to the fabulous Gibson House care home for having us along to entertain residents with an afternoon of song, dance and a little bit of violin too. Big thank you to all our dancers for being such brilliant ambassadors for Dance St Andrews: Beth M, Cecilia D, Elspeth H, Gabriella D, Jocelyn S, Kayla C, Niamh D, Sulgi T and Ziyan C. Special mentions to Joss S for her amazing National solo (a few happy tears for that one!), to Elspeth for her lovely violin solo and to the wonderful Sulgi for being the cutest, youngest, and smiliest member of our team and rocking her first care home outing.

Pantomime 2023
Well done to our amazing Dance St Andrews dancers Charlotte F and Mia M who are currently performing in this year's pantomime Byre Theatre in St Andrews. Both are extremely hard workers and we are very proud of them

Elisabeth Schilling Workshops
We had 3 amazing workshops delivered by Elisabeth Schilling and our pupils absolutely loved it. These workshops pushed our pupils to explore the technique and creativity of contemporary dance.

Royal Ballet Awards
TWe were delighted to present some of our junior ballet pupils with their Royal Ballet School primary steps certificates on Tuesday. The programme builds core skills in ballet in a fun and inclusive way and has really been embraced by our pupils. Super proud of your hard work

Choreography Workshop
Congratulations to our hard-working Gabriella D who was invited by the amazingly talented Andrew Smith to spend last Sunday as one of 5 young choreographers from across the UK attending his choreography development day in Cardiff.

Saltire Awards for Volunteering

Harbour Gala Performance
Well done to the cutest sailors in St Andrews for an amazing performance today St Andrews Harbour gala. We had a few technical issues and a massive shower of rain but you were all marvelous! Shout out to the amazing Billy Anderson for a wonderful hornpipe too.

Summer Breeze - it's a wrap!
Congratulations to our everyone who performed in our wonderful show at the Buchanan Theatre. Thank you to our backstage helpers, costume helpers, teachers, parents, raffle donors and everyone involved. Everyone's efforts are very much appreciated.

Gibson House Care Home Performance

Show Competition Winners
Congratulations to Eliza G and Edith G who thought up the themes for our upcoming summer show and were rewarded with show themed goodies! Our themes are weather and holidays and our show will be called Summer Breeze.

Congratulations to our wonderful Lauren R who is the first recipient of the Munro Award. This gorgeous trophy was donated to DSA by Heather Munro to raise attainment in Highland.

More exam success!
Our fabulous Beginning Ballet pupils have attained their Baby Ted certificates for mastering their first steps as ballet dancer.
Congratulations to the amazing pupils of DSA who took part in their exams today. Once again everyone passed, with all marks in the top three grade categories in all subjects - ballet, tap, jazz, choreography, highland and national. You were awesome.

Birmingham Royal Ballet Workshop
9 of our wonderful DSA pupils from Grade 2 and over travelled to Dancebase in Edinburgh to attend a workshop on Swan Lake repertoire from the dancers of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. What an amazing opportunity!

Choreography Success
Well done to the lovely Gabriella D for her recent successes in a number of choreography competitions and in particular with her modern ballet piece, Autumn Romance for which she also received the adjudicators choice award for best choreography across all dance styles and age categories

Exam Success!
100% Success in our October exams with a big haul of awards in a short 3 hour exam session! Well done to all of our amazing pupils. For the first time we had professional dance exam candidates in Ballet who both got distinction for their efforts. Brilliant work.

Terrific Teacher!

Global Success!
Congratulations to Gabriella D who placed an amazing 2nd in teen ballet at the recent Global Online Dance Competition, which had over 250 entries from as far afield as Australia. She also placed a fantastic 3rd in jazz and 3rd in lyrical. Well done!

Exam Excellence
In our recent e-exams, over 25% of our exams were graded as 'distinction', significantly higher than national average. Exceptional performances in highland and ballet with 67% and 43% distinctions.

Care home outreach

Lockdown awards
UKADance produced these lovely Lockdown Loyalty certificates and medals! DSA nominated all of our lovely pupils who have danced with us in so many ways over the last few months. Winter Review '19

Nursery Outreach
Two of our younger pupils demonstrated their ballet, jazz and national skills during a workshop at the University of St Andrews nursery. The nursery pupils were a real delight and we enjoyed bringing some dance to their classes!
