Our jazz classes combine strong physical conditioning with creativity and expression, focusing on flexibility, core technique, and dynamic movement. We explore a broad range of styles within jazz, including lyrical, hip hop, and contemporary, creating classes that are energetic, challenging, and enjoyable. Through a balance of fun and focused work, our dancers build skill, confidence, and performance quality.
Contemporary dance is underpinned by both ballet and jazz technique and is being delivered to our junior pupils for the first time in 2025/6!
Our P1-3 jazz dancers study exercises and dances from the UKADance preliminary syllabi designed to develop strength, flexibility and musicality.
Junior pupils follow the early levels of the UKADance graded syllabi developing strength and flexibility and tackling a range of dance styles from musical theatre to hip hop.
Senior pupils explore the higher levels of the UKADance syllabi, up to Grade 8 and develop a broader range of dance styles including lyrical, contemporary, and very recently, the Charleston.
