Highland
Highland at DSA
We teach Highland and National from P1 to professional. Although we are not a competitive Highland school we take part in lots of performances with this very popular form of dance - allowing everyone, even those just starting out, to be part of our Highland team.
We have successfully supported teacher training to Associate level and have been highly successful in obtaining high grades in our Highland exams despite our non-competitive status.
Highland
Highland classes are open to all from age 5 and up and offer development of the core Highland dances: Highland Fling, Sword Dance, Seann Triubhas and Reel.
Scottish National
Scottish National is a collection of more graceful dances, which draw strongly on the importation of ballet technique to Scottish dance in the late 18 and early 1900s, as well as character dances such as the Sailor's Hornpipe and Irish Jig.
